2023 Update and Looking Ahead to 2024

Mesta Meadows Update – December 2023

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday! 2023 has been an incredible year in a number of ways for Mesta Meadows.  We had a tornado hit the farm, two floods, a barn burn down, and yours truly was severely injured by a horse. So while we had some real challenges hit us, we also had some amazing blessings. We had over 700 attendees at our Ozark Highland Fiber Festival, we acquired a flock of ‘colored’ Rambouillet sheep from Wyoming, we started a dairy sheep operation, and we had an amazing year and have ‘sold out’ almost all of our wool!  Thank you to all our great customers, and we can’t wait until next year.

Our flock has almost doubled in size this year.  We will be shearing over 60 fine wool (Cormo and Rambouillet) sheep this March during the Fiber Festival and we already have over 150 lbs of Rambouillet, Cormo, and Jacob wool at Mesta Meadows being spun into yarn and sock yarn.  We will allow folks to advance order wool this year so if you would like to reserve a fleece just let us know.

We really look forward to working with you in 2024, and we hope you will visit our fiber festival (https://www.mestameadows.com/fiber-festival) so we can meet you in person, and we will have our sheep fleeces listed soon so you can pre-order fleeces if you are interested.

Best wishes for a successful 2024 from all of us at Mesta Meadows.
