Vintage Surfboards

This beanie pattern is part of Nancy Bates’ California Road Trip Collection. It appears in the book Knitting California.

Surfing in Southern California; waves, sand, woody wagons, bikinis, surfboards, wetsuits, bonfires, parties on the beach and Palm Trees.

This classic striped beanie design was inspired by the surf culture of the ’50s and ’60s, when young surfers piled their friends and their boards into a woodty wagon and headed for the beach.
