In 1998 we purchased 2 pregnant females. The next year we purchased 2 more females. Having only 1 acre of land, we boarded our alpacas at various farms. In 2002, we purchased 18 acres in Brunswick, Ohio. We built our house, barns and put up fencing and brought our alpacas home! We are passionate about the alpaca industry and dedicated to the long-term success of the industry.
From our farm to your creative fingertips: At Alpaca Sunrise Farm we sell raw fiber, yarns, rovings, shoe/boot inserts, socks, hats, scarves, shawls and rugs made from our alpacas.
Alpaca fiber is soft, durable, and has a tremendous thermal capacity. It is a breathable fiber, insulating from cool and warm temperatures. Alpaca fiber has the most natural color choice with a vast array of shades in between. Strands of alpaca fiber are smooth. People who are sensitive to wool products find they can wear alpaca without the itch associated with wool. Alpaca fiber is also lanolin-free. Lanolin holds dust and microscopic allergens that create allergies associated to wool. Most people who have wool-based allergies should not be allergic to alpaca.
Availability is limited due to one-of-a-kind products made from local fiber artists and our alpacas. If you want to purchase raw alpaca fiber, we have many different color and grades!
